Toasted Ravioli

First of all, I'm loving all the insightful questions on the Q&A post! I promise I haven't forgotten about it, and I intend to answer all of them one way or another (via individual blog posts, or vlogs, or large "answers" posts).

Here's another yummy recipe to munch on during the Super Bowl! I love these, and they look so cute on a tray with some marinara sauce!

Recipe adapted from here.

Ingredients:
2 tbsp milk
1 egg
3/4 cup Italian style bread crumbs
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp dried oregano
1/4 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp dried thyme
1 package frozen cheese or beef ravioli, thawed
vegetable oil for frying
marinara sauce for dipping

Directions:
1. Combine milk and egg in a small bowl. In a second bowl, combine breadcrumbs and seasoning. Dip each ravioli into the milk mixture, then coat with breadcrumbs.
2. In a large pan, pour oil to depth of 2 inches. Heat oil over medium heat. Fry ravioli, a few at a time until golden brown (about 1 minute on each side). Drain on paper towels. Serve with marinara sauce.

(breadcrumb mixture)

(the dipping and frying process was messy and fast-paced, so I don't have any photos of that!)

Ta-da!

Enjoy!

  2. i just went back and read that post - you really do have some insightful readers! i'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on all those questions!

also, your posts about new orleans have got me craving beignets. i think i shall try to make some in the spirit of mardi gras. i'm kinda terrified of frying things though, so we'll see how that goes...

also, also, i'm a bad commenter, but your house tour video was really cute! totally made me picture your home so much better!
