Our Wedding Album

I'm so excited to finally be able to share our wedding album!

After the first flawed album, I emailed MyPublisher's customer service. In under an hour (!!) I received an email back with a coupon code to get me a second book free with free one-day shipping! They said the white spots and mis-centered pages were probably a manufacturing flaw.

Two days later I received the 2nd book in the mail, and the white spots were totally gone! But, the problems with the pages being cut off in the center were still there. I decided it was probably a problem with the lay-flat pages (since it's a new feature for MyPublisher), so I again emailed customer service - this time I asked for another album with the regular pages. About 20 minutes later (!!) I received a coupon code for another book, again free with free one-day shipping!

So I ordered it again, this time with the standard pages. And when it came in the mail a couple of days later, it was perfect! I emailed customer service one more time to ask for a refund of the extra charge that I paid for the lay-flat pages, which they promptly granted - no questions asked!

I can't say enough wonderful things about MyPublisher's customer service. While I'm disappointed that the lay-flat pages didn't work out, I'm pretty happy with the end result - three photo books! Haha.

Here they are! The covers are beautiful matte-finish photo wraps. They seem to be pretty scratch-resistant as well!

Here are the lay-flat pages compared to the standard pages:

Lay-flat

Standard

Here's an example of the BIG difference in centered layouts between the two:

Lay-flat pages -- "ease join us for the Rehearsal Dinner"

Standard pages: "Please join us for the Rehearsal Dinner"

Anyway, I love the book we ended up with. The cover is perfect. The spine text is great as well:

I also love the vellum pages that are included in the back and front:

Here are some of my favorite layouts... I should mention that my photography skills totally don't do these pages justice. They're all very clear, with vibrant colors and WONDERFUL printing (you can click to enlarge the photos).

Getting ready!

The dresses. :)

Details...

Rings - ignore the flash mark!

My littlest sister playing video games! Haha.

The full-page photos are just lovely!

Walking down the aisle!!

I loved this layout - great for pictures of reception details!

This might be my absolute favorite spread... I love the black & whites in the center.

Conga line photos! I just HAD to include these. Haha.

My photographer took these while sitting on her assistant's shoulders!!

Grand exit!

And here's the back cover - It's a full-bleed photo of our ceremony. For some reason I loved the thought of putting a picture of our backs on the back of our album. Haha.

I would TOTALLY recommend MyPublisher to anyone. Excluding the lay-flat pages, everything was perfect - GREAT print quality, GREAT color quality, GREAT paper quality, GREAT covers, GREAT spine text. Even the binding feels sturdy and high-quality. Plus, the customer service is AMAZING. You can't lose ordering from MyPublisher - if you're not happy, they'll refund the whole thing for you immediately!

I'm so happy we finally have this done. And I'm even more happy that we ended up with a decently-priced book that I designed myself! Just what I wanted. :o)

PS - MyPublisher is running a GREAT promotion from now until February 8th - you can get unlimited pages on a Classic Album for $35, or on a Deluxe Album for $70! Use coupon code LOVEIT. :)

  3. Your book looks awesome! I probably missed it, but did you get the standard or deluxe book? Your cover isn't a paper cover, it's printed on there right? I think I'm going to use that code and order our album, thank you so much for sharing!

  4. @ Mrs. Puma - It's the standard... I wanted it to fit nicely on our coffee table and the deluxe was a bit too big. Yes, it's a printed cover... it's a lovely matte finish and the print quality is great... I just love it!

  10. I'm starting my book right now & I have a funny question. What type of photos did you start off the first page with? I'm debating between details and getting ready photos.

  11. Oh man, another question. How did you get a text page on the first inside page and then just photos on the rest? : )

  12. @Mrs. Puma - I started with getting ready photos... the first page is a big black & white full-bleed of me getting my hair done. As for the first page, I changed the "Page Type" to "Text" rather than a certain # of pictures, then I changed the "Page Layout" to the one that looks like a title page. Let me know if that doesn't answer your question well enough!

  14. Did you order the satin finish or the matte finish for the inside pages?

    1. I believe I did the satin finish with the regular paper (not the upgraded deluxe paper or whatever it's called). Hope that helps!
